Leaving our Vehicle at Prudhoe Bay we fly with Alaska Airlines to Barrow. Barrow is North West of Prudhoe bay and has open access to the Arctic Sea. You need a security clearance to access the Arctic Sea from Prudhoe as you can only access it through the Oil Fields. We are met at the Airport by Ryan our Tour Guide of the Town of Barrow.
Jaw Bones of a Whale
Barrow is the Most Northern Town in the United States. Barrow is the central Hub for all the surrounding
Villages in the area Known as the North Slope. This is the largest Municipality by area in Northern America
and Possibly the world. We are experiencing their summer a balmy 6 degrees Celsius.
Ryan explains how they need to adapt to the Environment here, which is extremely cold in Winter down to
-40 degrees below zero. Each house has all the utilities, such as Gas,Sewer and water fed via a tunnel system,
which goes down 20 feet. This is to overcome problems caused by the Perma-frost.
Tunnel System that feeds each house.

Taking a dip in the Arctic Ocean at Barrow was probably one of the craziest things i have done.
Unfortunately i do not have a picture yet,but will receive a certificate for my efforts.
The Arctic Ocean was just a couple of Minutes walk from our Hotel
