DAY 16 September 1 Wiseman to Prudhoe Bay

Leaving Wiseman Our first encounter is the magnificent brooks Mountain Range.

The huge Pipeline, like a giant snake has been following us all the way from the start of the Dalton Highway.
This Pipeline is 800 Miles long and Pumps oil from Prudhoe bay on the Arctic Sea to Valdez in Alaskas
South.

Driving North from Wiseman we see the last of the Spuce trees until our return. We are now entering what is called the Arctic Tundra. The only thing that grows here is Grass. There are vast Plains in front of us.

Musk Ox grazing on the Arctic Tundra.

Finally we make our destination tonight, which is Prudhoe Bay / Deadhorse.
This seems to us almost like an anti-climax to what has been a spectacular Drive. This place is highly
Industrial. The place exists for one reason Oil. Most of the town arrived on a Semi - Truck in the form
of buildings resembling Builders Huts.

Our Accommodation at the Carabou Inn
